THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the December 5 public meeting on possible remedies for the groundwater contamination at Badger Army Ammunition Plant. Army officials reiterated that a new municipal water system was not an option but presented information about possible ways to actively mitigate groundwater contamination.
The Army has extended the public comment period to mid-February thanks to a request from the Wisconsin DNR. State regulators have also asked to see the Army’s complete preliminary site investigation for PFAS, rather than a summary. Army has also been asked to expand future study to include the 26 PFAS chemicals currently being reviewed by state health officials.
